Connecticut Chapter of IPMA-HR

Message from the President of the Connecticut Chapter of IPMA-HR

Dear IPMA-HR Connecticut Chapter Member:

I want to thank you for being a member of the Connecticut Chapter of the International Public Managers Association - Human Resources (IPMA-HR) last year and encourage you to renew your membership for our 2011/2012 program year. We've already held several programs this year (Legal Update in September and an Overview of Workers' Compensation in November but there is more to come in 2012 so now is the perfect time to renew your membership. Click on the Membership section and download a copy of the 2011-2012 Membership Application to ensure we have your most current contact info.

Our Chapter Mission is to enhance professional development, recognition and partnerships; provide quality, cost-effective programs for continuing education on current human resources issues; and develop opportunities for professional growth and networking. Join us and take advantage of all the benefits of membership including affordable, high-quality educational programs, our chapter newsletter - HR Matters, scholarships for members and their eligible children, opportunities to network with professional colleagues from Connecticut, the northeast and nationally as well as access to online resources and conferences at the regional and national level.

We encourage you to volunteer your knowledge and skills with our chapter's committees on education programs, membership and outreach, communications, awards, community service and social programs, or scholarships and invite you to consider serving on our chapter's executive board.

The friendships and experience you gain are guaranteed to increase your effectiveness as a human resources professional. We know that, in these difficult fiscal times, many of our members must bear the cost of programs and membership without financial support from their agencies. We hope that you look to the Connecticut Chapter of IPMA-HR as a cost-effective way to continue your professional development and a means to maintain your connection with your HR colleagues.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you during this coming year.

Sincerely,

Ellen Mantel

President
