Panel Discussion on Mental Health Issues in the Workplace

Seventy people attended this event on January 27, 2006 at Middlesex Community College.  Originally scheduled for December, but postponed due to weather, this event brought together expertise from the legal, labor relations, and counseling fields to provide us with insights and answer our real-life questions.

 Our distinguished panel included:

Panel members made individual presentations followed by nearly an hour of questions and answers.   Discussion topics ran the gamut from dealing with employees’ off-duty DWI arrests to scheduling intermittent medical leave.  We enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to learn from the experts as well as from each other.

One participant’s comment summed up the topic very well, “It really does take a team to deal with these (mental health/substance abuse) issues”.
